Chef Jimmy Carey has always been at home in the kitchen, probably because he first learned his way around it as a young boy helping his mother cook. If his first love was food, it’s a passion whose flames have been fanned throughout his diverse, successful twenty-year culinary career.
Armed with a degree in culinary arts from Johnson and Wales University, Carey garnered experience from Five-Star hotels to Brasserie le Coze (sister restaurant Le Bernardin N.Y.C.) to actor Michael Caine’s South Beach Brasserie. From famous steak houses like Ruth’s Chris and Morton’s to casual-themed dining, Carey honed his craft and brings the result to the newest dining destination at Jimmy’z Kitchen.

"A management-trainee job with the Chart House chain brought Jimmy to Miami 20 years ago. He caught the cooking bug, enrolled at Johnson & Wales University, and worked under chef Robert Holley at Brasserie La Coze, the brief-lived Le Bernardin outpost in Coconut Grove" - Miami Herald
